3. Approval of Minutes from March: approved by Steve Christensen and Kristine Wilson

3. SCC Chair Update & Calendar

                     -Next Year’s Council Members:

Returning members include:Wendy Buchanan, Stephanie Robbins, Meghann Shaw, and Steve Christensen

-Schedule 1st meeting for 2026-27 school year:  Wednesday August 26, 2026 at 5:15pm

-More parent involvement on Council: We discussed setting up a back to school night booth, adding a note on facebook and mentioning it to the PTA members

4. Safety Drills Report: Went smoothly

5. Review of council’s stewardship items – Land Trust Funds, TSSA budgets: A few aids quit this last month which ensures we will close on budget more smoothly. If there is extra, it will carry over into next year’s budget. There are current pans in the budget to order more books for the book vending machine. Next year for the school fundraiser they are looking to work with an online store to buy all Glacier Hills merchandise through them and Glacier Hills can get a small percentage of every purchase. Still looking into it and what it would take to get it approved, so not for sure yet. Banks will not accept the change associated with fundraisers like Penny wars (even when it is an awesome fundraiser) so we will not be able to do that one.

6. Student Safety – official student safety plan has been submitted and we expect a response and approval presently. Neighborhood Concerns Near School Walking Routes: Allan Perry and Meghann Shaw discussed the notes being left on cars parked near the white city water district building. They wanted to let the school know what is happening there and what to do in the future if there are any questions. If anyone sees it or is concerned they are encouraged to contact the non-emergency police line and just make a report to keep things documented and perhaps qualify the situation for further support.

Mrs. Winfree discussed the neighbor who has been leaving notes on cars. Our resource officer investigated the situation and felt it was serious enough to issue a no trespassing order for all Canyons Schools. She issued him the order.  Mrs. Winfree let the staff, recess aides, and crossing guards all know of the situation. We are to call 911 if he comes onto campus.

7. Discuss May Meeting- possibly cancel: Lori Salter proposes we cancel the May meeting, Kristine Wilson seconds.
