Principal’s Message
Thank you for another fantastic week! Our students are settling into daily routines beautifully and diving into the first units of our curriculum. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and focus as we build momentum for the year ahead.
This Week’s Highlights
Curriculum Launch: Students began engaging with our core subject units, setting a strong foundation for the learning goals ahead.
Acadience Reading Assessments: We completed our beginning-of-year Acadience reading assessments. These benchmark check-ins give us valuable data on where each student is starting the year, allowing us to tailor our instruction and support to meet their individual needs.

Electronics Policy Reminder To help maintain a focused and engaged learning environment, please keep the following policy in mind: (January 2026) Cell phones and phone-enabled watches may not be used on school grounds or during classroom time, instructional activities, recess, or field trips. For privacy and safety reasons, students are not permitted to take photos or videos at school. All phones must remain powered off and stored in backpacks for the entire school day. Electronic watches must be set to School Mode while on campus.Any additional electronic devices may only be brought to school with permission from both a parent/guardian and the classroom teacher. Please remember that all electronic items, including cell phones and watches, are brought at your own risk. The district is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged devices. If these expectations are not followed, the electronic watch or phone will be held in the Main Office and may be picked up by a legal guardian at the end of the school day.

Important Reminders
A massive thank you to our families for making drop-off and pick-up so safe and efficient! Thanks to your cooperation, we are currently getting all students safely headed home in just 10–15 minutes each afternoon. To help us keep our end-of-day running smoothly, please keep these quick reminders in mind:

End-of-Day Checkouts: To prevent interrupting classroom lessons and end-of-day wrap-ups, please refrain from checking out your student between 3:30 – 3:45PM, unless it is for an occasional appointment.

Secondary Sibling Pickup: Middle and high school students meeting a Glacier Hills sibling must wait at the front of the school near the flagpole or on the concrete steps. For safety and supervision reasons, secondary students are not permitted to wait on the back playground unless they are with a parent.

Drop off and Pick up Directions:Students eating breakfast may be dropped off as early as 8:30 AM in front of the cafeteria. Students not eating breakfast should not be dropped off before 8:40 AM, as that is when teacher supervision begins.

Car Drop off : Glacier Hills is a large elementary and many families drive students to and from school. We have many cars entering the parking lot and drop off lane daily. Please watch this short video so you know the procedures we would like everyone to follow. Most of all please be patient, kind, and go slow! Drop off and pick up video: https://youtu.be/Emq1i6u7JMs
