| Principal’s Message Reminder about No School dates and Early Out Days in September: NO SCHOOL Labor Day Sept. 7th Early Out 1:55pm on Sept. 24th NO SCHOOL Sept. 25th NO SCHOOL Sept. 28 To help maintain an organized and productive environment, we are continuing our school policy regarding backpack accessories. Students cannot have attached keychains, plush toys, or other hanging accessories to the outside of their backpacks. Students will receive a verbal warning and be asked to place the item inside their backpack. If there are continued Issues the item will be collected and held in the front office for a parent or guardian to pick up. We want to reassure you that every student will continue to have full access to tools for focus and self-regulation. ‘Calm down boxes’ stocked with sensory tools and fidgets remain available in every classroom and booster area. Please talk with your child about leaving these extra items at home. Thank you for your continued partnership! |
Important Reminders Picture Day: School Picture day will be Friday September 11th. You can find the flier with how to purchase orders here. Upcoming Grandparents Lunch: Glacier Hills would like to invite Grandparent’s to join us for lunch during parent teacher conference week. If a student doesn’t have a grandparent that can attend, they can invite an important adult in their life. The Grandparent’s lunch will be held on both Monday September 21st and Wednesday September 23rd. We will be giving each grandparent a visitor sticker to identify adults in the building. Due to new security policies from the legislature, grandparents will only be able to go to lunch and visit the book fair. We cannot have grandparents or adults walking students back to their classrooms or pods. Thank you for helping with safety.Grandparents are invited to bring their own lunch (NO school lunch provided for visiting adults). They may bring a lunch for their student as well if they would like. Grandparents and students will eat in the gym anytime between 11:00 and 1:15. Please come to the school lobby NO Earlier than 11:00 to check in, and a member of our AVID Ambassadors will bring your student to meet you. Below are the recommended days by last name. Please do not hesitate to come on the other day if that best suits your schedule. Monday, 9/21- last names A-J Wednesday, 9/23 last names K-Z Grade level lunches – K/Parkin’s Class 11:00am 1st 11:23am 2nd/Burdiss’ 11:45am 5th/YA 12:08pm 4th/Kaihatu’s Class 12:30pm 3rd 12:53pm If grandparents have more than one grandchild, they can attend at one of the student’s lunches and we will have the other student(s) join. Tips for Grandparents– Know your student’s teacher and grade before you arrive at the school to speed up the process of being united with your student for lunch. We will be giving each grandparent a visitor sticker to identify adults in the building. *Due to capacity issues, please limit 2 adults to each student. If there are two sets of grandparents, they are encouraged to each come a different day. Grandparents are invited to visit the book fair with their grandchildren after lunch (ending at 1:45pm). It will be held in the media center which is directly above the office on the second floor of the school. Parent Teacher Conferences and Book Fair: Parent teacher conferences will be taking place from 4pm-8pm on Monday September 21st and Wednesday September 23rd. Teachers have sent out signup via parent square to schedule a conference.Additionally, during conferences the book fair will be open in the Media Center (directly above the office on the second floor of the school) from 4:00-7:30pm both 9/21 and 9/23.On Monday September 21st from 4:00-7:00 (during conferences) we will host a Boo to the Flu clinic, where nurses will be available to provide flu vaccines if you so choose. |
Canyons Family Center The Canyons Family Center, providing collaborative, creative and cooperative courses and other counseling services that help families of all kinds— and with all kinds of challenges — discover gentle and genuine avenues to assist each other, connect with each other and learn from each other.The Canyons Family Center provides a spectrum of services including individual counseling, student-support groups and parent-education classes. Counseling services will include a preliminary intake process to help our experienced school psychologists and social workers determine what services may be needed to meet a family’s specific needs, whether as a result of an emotional crisis or not, are provided at no cost to families in Canyons School District.
